The Dance

2017 Dance Schedule

Garner State Park

Year after year, summer after summer, the Pavilion dance floor is filled by families for the nightly summer dance.  There are many first dances, many first loves and countless lifetime friendships made.

A Texas tradition dating back to the forties, the dance maintains its roots with a quarter fed jukebox that plays timeless country tunes including songs from the original Garner dance days, Texas country and popular country.  Only at GSP will you find songs such as Pop a Top again and Blackland Farmer.  Line Dances are a dance floor favorite and most are unique to Garner.  Whip It, Puttin on the Ritz & Rockin Robin fill the air nightly as everyone scrambles for a place in the line dance.

The Garner Dance is very family friendly. Although alcohol is not permitted, the Garner Grill is open during the dance providing amazing food.  Cool off after dancing with a lightning lemonade or a bluebell ice cream bar or refill your energy level with a famous Garner burger.

The Gift Shop is also open during the dance, offering a chance to enjoy fine shopping and grab a few souvenirs and delicious rock candy.  Although there is not a CD with the jukebox songs due to copyright, the Gift  Shop does sell amazing Texas Country artist CD's.
